There are two major pieces of Lottery Jackpot news today from outside the UK which are such big news that it would be wrong to omit them from our UK lottery news. The first is:

Mega Millions Jackpot hits $0.5 Billion / €540 Million

For the first time in history a Lottery Jackpot has hit the Half a Billion Dollars marker making the Mega Millions draw for Friday 30th March 2012 the biggest ever single lottery jackpot to be offered. Even more incredible is the fact that the jackpot in Friday’s draw is still likely to roll over with the odds of winning the top prize in Mega Millions being 175million to 1.

Irish Lottery Jackpot continues to Roll

In Ireland we are seeing on e of the longest rollover streaks for a long time and the Irish Lotto Jackpot now stands at an amazing €11,000,000 after rolling over from Wednesday’s draw. With Jackpot odds of just 8million to 1 this Irish Lotto Jackpot is undoubtedly the one to watch.

Irish Lotto Jackpot 28th March 2012

This week see’s the Irish Lotto Jackpot break into 8 figures as the Jackpot finally hits the €10,000,000 mark for Tuesday 28th March 2012 after rolling over since February 15th 2012.

It’s quite rare for the Irish Lotto to hit this size of jackpot so there is bound to be a huge interest in this latest Irish Lottery draw considering its fantastic jackpot odds of just 8m:1 compared with the current big news lottery from overseas – the $363m Mega Millions with ludicrous jackpot odds of over 175m:1

Irish Lotto Results will be available shortly after the draw takes place at 8pm GMT with a full prize breakdown usually available before 9.30pm – as the jackpots get bigger these breakdowns can take longer to calculate. For those players from Ireland there are also the results of the two additional draws, Lotto Plus 1 and Plus 2 which offer players another chance of winning either a €350,000 or €250,000 jackpot respectively.

Lottery Update 12th March 2012

After this weekend’s lottery activity there are a number of lottery draws to look out for in the coming week.

The first Lottery draw of interest is the Euromillions which rolled over in Friday’s draw to give a new estimated Jackpot of £27,000,000. Ticket sales for this draw are open until 7.30pm on Tuesday evening and the results will be available online from 8.45pm with the Millionaire Raffle results following at approximately 9.30pm

The next Lottery that is attracting a lot of attention is the Irish Lotto with it’s new estimated jackpot of €6,000,000 for Wednesday’s draw. While this jackpot might not seem as impressive as the above Euromillions the odds of winning on Irish Lotto are far better (1:8m compared with 1:116m).

This week’s Lotto and Health Lottery draws are both at the default Jackpot, £2.2m for UK Lotto and £100,000 for the Health Lottery. One of the big advantage of the Health Lottery draw in this situation is that no matter how many people play you are still guaranteed to take home the full £100,000 for matching all 5 numbers.

 

National Lottery Website Down 27th January 2012

This morning there are technical issues on the official National Lottery website and many players are experiencing difficulties trying to by tickets for this evening’s coming Euromillions draw as well as the Saturday Lotto draws.

Site service restored at approximately 10:45am with a short outage at 12:40pm. Hopefully normal service is now restored. Users may need to clear their Temporary Internet Files and web history to access the site.

This Weekend’s Lottery Update

This weekend is fairly quiet on the UK Lottery front but there are still a few newsworthy events worth mentioning.

Euromillions Friday 28th October

There is a Euromillions Rollover tonight for the European lottery giving an estimated Jackpot of £23,000,000 after Tuesday night’s draw failed to find a winner. The draw takes place at approximately 8.40pm tonight and the Euromillions Results will be available online as soon as the draw takes place at euro-millions.com

Health Lottery Saturday 29th October

This is the 4th outing for the all new Health Lottery and people are starting to understand how this new format works and where they can find the latest Health Lottery Draw. For those of you who are still unfamiliar with the National Health Lottery here are the basics:

The Health Lottery Draw takes place at 9.35pm during the ad break on ITV1 and Channel5. Players can either purchase a ticket from their nearest retailer (most news agencies, supermarkets and petrol stations) or online at lottery.co.uk

Playing the game is relatively simple, you choose 5 numbers from a total of 50 numbers. If more than 2 of your numbers match the numbers in the Health Lottery draw then you win a prize. £50 for matching 3, £500 for matching 4 and a £100,000 Jackpot for matching all 5.

Irish Lottery 29th October 2011

Wednesday’s Irish Lottery draw produced a rollover so the estimated Irish Lotto  Jackpot for Saturday 29/10/2011 is €2,500,000. Unlike some of the other lottery games with astronomical odds of winning a Jackpot the Irish Lottery offers very good odds at just 8m to 1 and offers a minimum prize of €5 for matching just 3 numbers (from a pool of 45) and a guaranteed €25,000 for matching 5 numbers and the bonus ball. Euromillions Mega Jackpot Hits £100m for Friday 7th October

Tonight we have one of the biggest Euromillions Jackpots of the year after the £85m Euromillions Superdraw on Tuesday 4th Rolled Over. This makes Friday’s Draw a Mega Jackpot Draw meaning that the jackpot has exceeded the £100m mark. What is particularly interesting about a Euromillions Mega Jackpot is that it works in exactly the same way as a regular draw and if it isn’t won on the night it will rollover to the Following Tuesday.

National Lottery – Lotto Rollover for Saturday 8th October

Wednesday’s Lotto Draw saw the jackpot rollover giving us an estimated Lotto Jackpot for Saturday 8th October of £6.5m. This might not seem that impressive when compared with the Euromillions Jackpot on offer above but with odds of just 14m to 1 of winning the Lotto it offers a greater chance of taking home the Jackpot than the 116m to 1 odds offered by Euro Millions. Irish Lottery – Lotto Rollover for Saturday 8th October

Not wanting to miss out the Irish Lotto also rolled over on Wednesday’s Draw taking the estimated Jackpot for the Irish Lottery to €4m. This trend of rollovers is something quite unusual for the Irishy Lottery and the €11m Jackpot paid out on September 24th is quite unprecidented.

Health Lottery Launch – 1st Draw Takes Place on Saturday 8th October

As if Saturday didn’t already have enough Lottery draws we now have the Launch of the Health Lottery, and all new Lottery which intends to support health based organisations and charities by giving 20% of all ticket sales to the Health Sector. The First Health Lottery Draw takes place at approximately 9.30pm and will be televised on both ITV1 and Channel 5. €11 million Irish Lottery Winners Announced

Saturday 24th September saw one of the biggest Irish Lottery jackpots paid out this year with one family winning a staggering €11,033,593. The winners of this fantastic Irish Lottery Jackpot were the McIntyre family from a small town called Ballyglass in County Mayo who purchased a €4 “quickpick” ticket last week.

Earlier this year we saw an impressive €14 million Jackpot paid out on the Irish Lottery which still remains as the biggest Jackpot of 2011 but with Christmas still some 3 months away we may still see that Jackpot beaten.

Meanwhile on the Euromillions we saw the Jackpot roll for the 2nd time to a new estimated Jackpot of £30 million. Euromillions Jackpot for Friday 23rd September 2011

After the recent spate of big Euromillions payouts the jackpot for tonight may seem quite small. At a fairly meagre £23million it may not be enough to buy you a lifestyle of the rich and famous but it would certainly change your life beyond all recognition.
