With the increasing popularity of mobiles and especially the iPhone for browsing the web and keeping connected with social networking we decided to check out the Health Lottery Results apps that are currently available.
There are currently 2 Health Lottery apps in the iTunes store, both offering the latest Health Lottery Results for the price of £0.69p
The first of the Health Lottery apps we looked at simply provides the 4 latest results but the lack of the Second Chance Guaranteed Winner reference or any indication of if there is one makes the app pretty much useless as any player would still need to check the main website to see if the jackpot had been won. The app also omits any information regarding the various promotions and bonuses offered by the the Health Lottery.
In testing we found the app extremely slow and had the Health Lottery results from Twitter a full hour before they became available in the app.
The 2nd Health Lottery iPhone app that we tested showed more potential with the addition of the Second Chance Guaranteed Winner Reference where applicable. However the app gives no indication of whether the Guaranteed Winner Reference has been announced and this leads to a problem…. Second Chance Guaranteed Winner references are announced after the results are given so this could lead to a player checking the results before any Second Chance winner is announced. With the Health Lottery only being drawn once per week it is likely the player would have thrown away their previous ticket without realising that a 2nd Chance Winner had been announced for the previous draw.
We also found this app to be incredibly slow and had to wait until the following day to get the results, again something we could do via Twitter mobile within seconds of the draw taking place.
At the moment these are the only Health Lottery apps available through the iTunes store and with both apps failing to impress we feel that it’s better to wait for a fully functioning and preferably free app to come along. On that front we have news from the developers at the UKs largest lottery website that a free Health Lottery app is on its way and should be available soon for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users everywhere along with an Android version of the app.
