Yesterday’s Deal or No Deal (10/01/2012) show on Channel 4 has been put down as one of the most exciting televised game shows ever. James, an Estate Agent who has 2 children and is engaged to be married to Emma started the game by choosing box no.3. After the first 3 rounds James had only selected 3 red boxes and had all but obliterated the blue side of the board giving James an offer of £12k. James said No Deal and carried on to take out a further 3 blues in the fourth round resulting in a £20k offer. After a very emotional decision from James with the Banker reminding him to think of his two children, James No Dealed yet again and continued to open another 3 blue boxes.
This sequence of events left James at 8 box with an all red board and the £75k, £100k and £250k still in play. At this point the banker had no choice but to up his offer to a staggering £40k. Many people might have taken the money and walked at this point but James felt sure there was one more round left in his game and so went on to No Deal this amazing offer. The tension in the studio at this moment felt almost suffocating and discussion on social networking sites went through the roof! Amazingly James went on to open 3 of the lowest value remaining red boxes leaving with a 5 box with the top 3 prizes still in play and an offer of £65k.
What makes the game truly amazing is that James said Deal to this final offer of £65k and then went on top open both the £250k and the £100k leaving him with a final 2 boxes containing £3k and £75k which would have seen his offer drop to £35 if he had still been in live play. Finally, just to put the icing on the cake James’s no.3 box was opened to revel the £3k making James’s game not only a Banker Spanking but also proof the making the right decision at the right time is what really counts in this ground breaking game.
